Technical advances in the electronics and semiconductor industry place ever-rising demands on materials currently in use. One cause for concern and major topic of conversation in the industry is the problem of electrostatic discharge, more commonly known as ESD.
Due to the hazardous impact ESD may have on semiconductor devices during the production process, it is absolutely essential to use only materials which inherently exclude the emission of any electrostatic discharge. Please also see EN 100015-1 for reference.
In addition, continuously-rising operating standards require increasing particle reduction in the clean room environment. This also limits the range of materials that may be deployed.
A solution to deal with these problems is the use of PC AS-Plates.
