Polyfluortrifluorethylen (PCTFE)
Proper name: PCTFE (Polychlorotrifluoroethene)
Trade names: Neoflon PCTFE (Daikin), Voltalef (Atofina), Kel-F
Density g/cm³: 2.1 to 2.13
Description: PCTFE is a semi-crystalline, thermoplastic fluoroplastic. It is characterised by a good strength and hardness - it is weather-resistant and can be used with food. Areas of application PCTFE is especially used in apparatus engineering due to its unique temperature characteristics.
Application examples:
Valve technology: springs, check valves, application in ultra-clean rooms
Medical engineering: gas-tight special packaging films
Filling industry: pumps, seals for liquids foods (dairies)
Laboratory technology: high purity gas valves, seals, fittings, hoses, membranes, crucibles
Electrical engineering: sealing-rings
Flammability: non-flammable
Temperature resistance: upper service temperature + 180 °C lower service temperature - 230 °C
